Job Posting & Sourcing Process
Purpose
Defines how Spartan creates job postings, selects sourcing channels, and attracts qualified candidates for open positions. ## Who This Applies To
Josh (owner, decision authority) and office staff assisting with recruiting (the Operations Manager or designated admin). ## When to Open a Requisition
A new hire requisition is opened when the Capacity Planning & Hiring Triggers criteria are met. Josh approves all open requisitions before any posting goes live. ## Job Posting Content — Required Elements
Every Spartan job posting must include:
- Job title and role description (field, office, or sales)
- Base pay range or salary (current service tech posting: ~$41,600/year base + bonus potential up to $23,400/year)
- Benefits summary: medical, dental, vision, PTO, life insurance, retirement
- Required experience/licenses (Ohio plumbing license if applicable)
- Location: Dayton, OH — 446 Windsor Park Drive, 45459
- Contact/application instructions
Note: Spartan does not offer cash prices and similarly does not want candidates who are attracted only by pay — the posting should emphasize culture, career growth, and Nexstar training. ## Sourcing Channels
| Channel | Use For | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Indeed | All roles | Primary volume channel |
| LinkedIn | Office and management roles | Professional network |
| Nexstar Network job board | All roles | Industry-specific talent |
| Employee referrals | All roles | Ask team at Monday meeting |
| Trade school partnerships | New/entry techs | Dayton area trade programs |
## Screening Process
1. Review applications within 48 hours of submission. 2. Phone screen (15-20 min): confirm license status, availability, compensation alignment. 3. Pass/fail to in-person interview. Do not delay good candidates — Dayton plumbing market is competitive. ## Important Notes
- Require insurance verification as part of the pre-offer process (not just before the offer — verify earlier in the process to avoid late-stage drops). - Do not post a role without Josh's approval — posting creates candidate expectations. - Track all open applications in the #recruiting Slack channel so Josh has visibility. ## Related SOPs
