## Important Field Notes
> the Production Concierge is the point of contact for permit questions. "Before starting a job, the need for permits is confirmed. the Production Concierge is the point of contact for permit questions. This ensures compliance and avoids potential legal issues. " — Slack
- Underground/excavation: Always verify with local jurisdiction before starting. Montgomery County generally requires permit for sewer tap replacement; other excavation may need right-of-way permits. - Subcontractors: When subcontractors are responsible for pulling permits, proactively follow up — do not assume they've done it. "If the subcontractor fails to do so, Spartan may need to pull the permit themselves. "
- Isometric drawings: Some counties require an isometric drawing with the permit application. The service/sales department provides these — plan ahead. - Well work: If homeowner is unaware of well location, contact Miami County to check for permits before locating. ## What to Do When Permit Is Required
1. Stop — do NOT start permitted-scope work without permit in process
2. Notify Production Concierge same day
3. Office Admin initiates permit application
4. NTP (Notice to Proceed) process kicks in — see NTP Process SOP
5. Proceed only after permit is confirmed
## Conflicting Information from Inspectors
Field teams have encountered inspectors giving conflicting permit requirements (Greene County underground repairs example). When this happens: log the conflict in ServiceTitan notes and escalate to Production Concierge for a definitive ruling before proceeding. ## Related SOPs
