Financing Options & Programs

Purpose

Overview of all financing programs available to Spartan Plumbing customers so reps and techs can present payment options confidently.

When to Use

During every sales presentation when discussing price, and proactively when the job estimate exceeds $1,000.

Available Financing Programs

GreenSky

  • Primary financing partner for most residential jobs.
  • Promotional offers: 0% interest for 12 months, 0% for 18 months (varies by promotion period).
  • Standard rates apply after promotional period if balance remains.
  • Quick approval process — customer applies on tablet or phone during the appointment.
  • Minimum job size: typically $500+.
  • Customer receives funds disbursed to Spartan directly.

Wisetack

  • Secondary option — used when GreenSky declines or customer prefers a different program.
  • Text-to-apply process — customer receives a link on their phone.
  • Multiple term options: 3, 6, 12, 24 months.
  • Soft credit check for pre-qualification (doesn't affect credit score).
  • Good for customers who want to see their options before committing.

Wells Fargo (Home Projects)

  • For larger projects — repiping, sewer replacement, major renovations.
  • Higher credit limits available.
  • Longer promotional periods available for qualifying customers.
  • Application process takes slightly longer but covers bigger jobs.

How to Present Financing

Make It Part of Every Presentation

  • Always show the monthly payment alongside the total price: "The Better option is $4,800, or about $400/month with our 12-month no-interest plan."
  • Don't wait for the customer to say it's too expensive — introduce financing proactively.
  • Frame it as a normal decision: "Most of our customers use financing to spread out the cost."
  • When the Customer Hesitates on Price

  • "Would it help to see what the monthly payment looks like?"
  • Pull up the financing calculator on your tablet.
  • Show them the payment for each Good/Better/Best option.
  • "A lot of families find that $[X] per month makes the Better option a no-brainer."
  • Application Process

  • Open the financing app (GreenSky, Wisetack, or Wells Fargo) on your tablet.
  • Customer fills in their application — SSN, income, and basic info.
  • Approval typically comes in 1-5 minutes.
  • If approved, select the promotional plan and confirm the terms with the customer.
  • If declined, try the secondary option (Wisetack if GreenSky declined, etc.).
  • Never make the customer feel bad about a decline — "No worries, let me check another option."
  • Important Notes

    • You are not a financial advisor. Present the options but don't give financial advice.
    • Never pressure a customer into financing they're uncomfortable with.
    • Ensure the customer understands the promotional period end date and what happens to the rate after.
    • Financing conversions are tracked as a KPI — this is a skill to develop, not an afterthought.
