Purpose
Procedures for installing water treatment systems including softeners, RO, and whole-house filtration.
When to Use
- Customer has approved a water treatment system installation
Softener Installation
Select installation location: near main water entry, with drain access, and power outlet
Install bypass valve assembly
Connect inlet and outlet lines — ensure correct flow direction
Connect drain line to approved drain point
Connect brine tank overflow to drain
Program the control valve: hardness setting, regeneration schedule, time of day
Add salt to brine tank
Run a manual regeneration cycle
Test water hardness before and after to verify operation
Show customer how to add salt and check the systemRO System Installation
Install under the kitchen sink (most common location)
Connect cold water supply with included saddle valve or tee fitting
Install the RO faucet on the sink (requires drilling a hole if not pre-existing)
Connect the drain line to the drain pipe (before the P-trap)
Connect the storage tank
Install all filter stages per manufacturer diagram
Flush the system per manufacturer instructions before first use
Test TDS before and after to verify membrane performanceWhole-House Filtration
Install on the main water line after the meter and before any branching
Install bypass valves for service access
Ensure proper flow direction per filter specification
