Quality Standards Checklist
Overview
This card defines Spartan Plumbing's minimum quality standards for all installation and service work. Every tech is responsible for meeting these standards on every job. Operations Manager spot-checks compliance through ServiceTitan photo reviews and job-site visits.
Who This Applies To
All service technicians and install technicians performing work in customers' homes.
Core Quality Standards
Pipe Installation
- All pipes must be properly strapped and supported at correct intervals:
- PEX: every 32 inches horizontal
- PVC/CPVC: every 4 feet horizontal
- No sagging pipe — if it sags, add a hanger
- All drain lines must maintain minimum 1/4" per foot slope toward the drain
- Only Spartan-approved materials (see Shared Technical Reference)
- No SharkBite fittings in concealed locations without Operations Manager approval
Water Heater Installation
- Expansion tank installed where required by code (closed loop systems)
- T&P relief valve and drain line correctly installed and routed
- Proper venting confirmed (gas units) — CO test performed and documented
- All connections leak-free before leaving the job site
- Before and after photos uploaded to ServiceTitan
Drain Work
- Camera used to verify result before closing drain jobs when accessible
- Area clean and free of debris after snaking or jetting
- Cleanout covers reinstalled after work
General Workmanship
- All connections leak-free — verified before leaving
- Work area cleaner than it was found
- Home protection used throughout (shoe covers, drop cloths, mats)
- No tools or materials left behind
- Customer notified of all work performed before closing out
Photo Requirements
Every job must have:
- 1 photo of the problem/starting condition (before)
- 1 photo of the completed work (after)
- Additional photos for any unusual findings or conditions
Photos uploaded to ServiceTitan before leaving the job site — no exceptions.
Quality Failures
Quality failures (callbacks, rework, failed inspections) are tracked in ServiceTitan and reviewed monthly. Repeated quality failures result in a coaching session with Production Concierge and may affect performance reviews.
