Photo Documentation Requirements (Install)
Overview
This card defines the photo documentation requirements specific to installation jobs. Install jobs are higher value and often involve permits and inspections — documentation must be thorough.
Who This Applies To
All install technicians on every installation job.
Required Photos — Every Install Job
| Phase | Required Photos |
|-------|----------------|
| Before work | Existing condition (what's being replaced or where work is happening) |
| Permit (if applicable) | Photo of posted permit at job site |
| Rough-in (before walls close) | All new connections, pipe routing, and supports |
| Completed work | Final installation — clear, well-lit, shows all connections and supports |
| CO test result | For all water heater and gas appliance installs — photo of the meter reading |
| Inspection result | Photo of signed inspection card (if inspection was performed) |
Additional Photos Required
- Any pre-existing damage discovered at the job site (document before touching anything)
- Any condition that deviates from the original scope (water damage, incorrect existing setup, code violations found)
- Material tags or model numbers for major equipment installed (water heaters, water treatment units)
Upload Standards
- All photos uploaded to the job record in ServiceTitan before leaving the job site
- Photo names are auto-generated by ServiceTitan — no manual renaming required
- If ServiceTitan upload fails in the field: save to phone and upload immediately upon returning to office or getting signal
- Minimum photo resolution: whatever the device's default camera produces — do not compress
