Workplace Conduct & Professionalism
Policy Statement
All Spartan Plumbing employees are expected to conduct themselves professionally, respectfully, and in a manner that reflects the company's values at all times — with customers, coworkers, and the public.
Who This Applies To
All Spartan Plumbing employees.
Expected Conduct
- Treat customers, coworkers, and vendors with respect and professionalism
- Communicate honestly and constructively — raise issues through proper channels
- Represent Spartan Plumbing positively in all interactions — on the job, in your truck, and in public
- Follow all company policies, SOPs, and safety procedures
- Cooperate with supervisors, dispatch, and team members
- Maintain a positive attitude — our customers and coworkers depend on it
Prohibited Conduct
- Harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any kind — toward customers or coworkers
- Discrimination based on race, gender, age, religion, disability, or any protected class
- Insubordination — refusing a direct, reasonable request from a supervisor
- Dishonesty — falsifying records, timesheets, ServiceTitan entries, or any documentation
- Theft — of company property, customer property, or coworker property
- Violence or threats of violence — zero tolerance
- Gossip or negative talk about coworkers, customers, or management that undermines the team
Progressive Discipline
- Most conduct issues follow a progressive approach: verbal coaching, written warning, final warning, termination
- Serious violations (theft, violence, harassment, fraud) may result in immediate termination
- All disciplinary actions are documented
Conflict Resolution
- If you have a conflict with a coworker, try to resolve it directly and professionally first
- If you cannot resolve it, bring it to your supervisor
- If the issue involves your supervisor, bring it to Josh or the office
- Spartan Plumbing does not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a legitimate concern
Important Notes
- Your conduct in a Spartan Plumbing vehicle is visible to the public — road rage, rude driving, or unprofessional behavior while in uniform or a branded truck reflects on the entire company
- Customer-facing professionalism is not optional — it is part of the job
- See Verbal and Written Warnings Policy for details on the disciplinary process
