Week 1: Orientation & Safety Training

Overview

Week 1 for install technicians mirrors the service tech orientation in structure but adds install-specific safety content, including CO testing requirements and permit awareness. Safety certifications must be complete before any field work.

Prerequisites

• Paylocity onboarding complete
• Company email and ServiceTitan login created
• Uniform ordered and received

Week 1 Schedule

Day 1 — Company Orientation

• Report to 446 Windsor Park Drive, Dayton, OH 45459 at 7:30 AM
• Meet with Office Admin — facility tour, team introductions
• Complete I-9 and remaining paperwork
• Review Employee Handbook and sign acknowledgment

Day 2 — Safety Certifications (Install-Specific)

• Gas Leak Response Protocol — review and sign
• CO Detection & Response — review and sign
• CO Testing After Water Heater Install — review and sign (install-critical)
• PPE Requirements — review and sign
• Hot Work Permits & Procedures (torch, soldering)
• Ladder Safety & Fall Prevention (for install-specific tasks)

Day 3 — Permit & Code Awareness

• Walk through Ohio permit requirements for install jobs with Production Concierge
• Review which job types require permits: water heaters, sewer lines, repiping, gas line work
• Review Permit Application & Requirements SOP
• Introduction to ServiceTitan project tracking for install jobs

Day 4 — Standards Review

• Spartan Quality Standards overview
• Review Photo Documentation Requirements (Install)
• Review Pre-Job Checklist & Material Staging
• Notice to Proceed (NTP) Process — when jobs can and cannot start

Day 5 — Week 1 Wrap-Up

• All certifications signed and filed
• Meet with Josh or Production Concierge for Week 1 check-in
• Confirm Week 2 tool training schedule and lead tech pairing

Completion Criteria

• All safety certifications (including CO testing) signed
• ServiceTitan login confirmed
• Permit awareness training complete
