Social Media Policy
Policy Statement
Employees are expected to use good judgment when using social media, both on and off the clock. What you post online can reflect on Spartan Plumbing and affect the company's reputation.
Who This Applies To
All Spartan Plumbing employees.
On-Duty Social Media Use
- Social media use during work hours should be limited to break times
- Do not post to personal social media while at a customer's property or during active work
- Company social media accounts are managed by authorized personnel only
Off-Duty Social Media Use
- You are free to use social media on your own time, but do not post content that: identifies specific customers or their properties without permission, shares confidential company information (pricing strategies, financial data, internal policies), makes defamatory statements about Spartan Plumbing, customers, or coworkers, or uses Spartan Plumbing branding without authorization
- If you identify yourself as a Spartan employee on social media, be aware that your posts may be associated with the company
Positive Social Media
- Sharing positive job completion photos (with customer permission) is encouraged
- Promoting Spartan Plumbing's services in a professional manner is welcome
- If you see a positive customer review online, share it in Slack to celebrate
Violations
- Posting confidential information: immediate investigation and potential termination
- Posting inappropriate content that damages the company: progressive discipline
- Social media use during active job time: coaching and progressive discipline
