- Simple repairs (faucet, toilet, drain clearing): generally no permit needed
Important Notes
- Working without a required permit is a code violation — it puts the company's license at risk
- Permit fees are included in the job estimate — do not forget to account for them
- Inspection must pass before the job is considered complete
- If an inspection fails, correct the issues and reschedule — do not close the job until it passes
- Keep track of permit timelines — some expire if work is not completed within a certain period
