Continuing Education Requirements

Purpose

Ensure all licensed Spartan Plumbing employees complete their required continuing education to maintain active licensure.

Who This Applies To

All employees holding an Ohio plumbing license (journeyman or master) or any other professional certification requiring CE.

Requirements

• Ohio OCILB requires continuing education hours for license renewal
• The specific hour requirements and cycle length depend on your license type — verify your requirements at ocilb.ohio.gov
• CE must be completed through approved providers before your renewal deadline

Procedure

Know your renewal date — this is your responsibility to track

Identify approved CE providers and courses (OCILB maintains a list of approved courses)

Complete required hours well before your deadline — do not wait until the last month

Keep certificates of completion — you will need them for renewal documentation

Submit renewal paperwork and fees on time

Spartan Plumbing Support

• Spartan may pay for or reimburse continuing education costs — check with the office before enrolling
• Time spent in company-required training programs may count toward CE hours
• If a training opportunity arises that benefits your license renewal, discuss scheduling with your supervisor
• Spartan will provide reminders for known license renewal dates, but the ultimate responsibility is yours

Important Notes

• Practicing on an expired license is a violation of Ohio law — the consequences fall on you AND the company
• If you are at risk of missing your CE deadline, notify your supervisor immediately so we can help
• Some CE courses are available online, others require in-person attendance — plan accordingly
• Keep copies of all CE certificates in your personal records and provide copies to the office
